There is a comforting rhythm to the changing of the seasons. A tree continues to grow and expand throughout the year as it adapts and changes by the season. As I come into the Autumn of my career, I realize how I have grown and expanded what I have been able to offer. Balanced Life Counseling and Training Services is a name for putting it all together in a cohesive and related way. Counseling is a two-way learning experience that needs harmony for success. Whether I am counseling clients or training other counselors through supervision or workshops; the themes of understanding human behavior and learning still apply.
There is some truth to the theories of birth order and the middle child. As a middle child with a disabled sister, I often found myself having to compromise and balance my needs and those of others in the family; when to speak up and when to keep quiet; when to seek comfort and when to give it. The yin yang symbol reflects the need for finding contentment through balance and harmony, often of opposing forces. I have used both the symbol and the philosophy since becoming a counselor.
