EAP, Work Life Balance, & Crisis Counseling

For individuals:

If you’re not sure professional clinical counseling is right for you, but your issues are affecting your concentration or performance at work, you may have a benefit to try called EAP (employee assistance program) counseling. Check with your HR department or benefits manager. EAP counseling is usually free, but time-limited, and can give you a feel for what counseling is like without getting too deep, as in long term psychotherapy.  It is still confidential.   If you need longer-term counseling, the EAP counselor can help you decide on whether to transition into that and how.

I am contracted with several EAP companies to provide EAP counseling. If I am not in the “affiliate network,” for the EAP connected with your employee benefits, I still recommend you contact your EAP if you want this kind of counseling.  If they can’t find a suitable affiliate provider for you, feel free to give them my contact information.  They may be able to set up an immediate onetime case contract with me.

For EAP vendor companies and client companies:

If I am not in your network and you are looking for affiliate providers, contact me to see if we should work together.  I have worked as both an internal and external affiliate EAP provider. I also am an experienced provider of critical incident and disaster response for issues such as downsizing, death of an employee or student, fires and floods. See the section on professional Training and Presentations for more information about workshops I can do, but you should know that I am an approved trainer for the Multisystemic Resilience Response model of crisis response and have also been trained to respond through the CISM  and Psychological First Aid models.
